I made this about 45 years ago. I found an old file in the street and just started shaping it with a belt sander. I notched the tang of the file, drilled the antler and epoxied it in. I made the finger guard out of a solid piece of brass and drilled and filed it to fit over the tang. It holds an edge great and has field dressed many deer over the years.

Nice work sir, nothing like a tool you made to serve a purpose doing exactly what you wanted it to do.

I have one somewhere like that that I made from an industrial hacksaw blade. Like you about 45 years ago. Holds a great edge.
