Went out to fill feeders that have been going the past month after having been done for a few months prior and only saw some does, fawns and a few smaller bucks on camera. After a month, was hoping to have seen more but still awful green out there and warm...At least some does and youngsters are coming around.

Man I have felt this way several times. Just keep doing what you are doing and if the doe are there when rut kicks in then you should see some action.

Always remember he who has the does come rut time will have the bucks cheers I can recall many years of having the same type crowd this time of year (does and young bucks) only to have a lot of jealous neighbors when it counted.

I have had my bucks here all summer and have picked out my deer and my wife's deer for the year, but as soon as they became hard horned they all disappeared except for the does and young bucks also! It will make it a funner archery season this way.

I feel like this happens every year to some degree. Between now and Nov things will drastically change.

All that matters is that a big buck steps out while you are there during season.

My buck from last year was over a mile away at the neighbors for a month until a few days before I shot him. He showed up on my cam for the first time chasing a doe the day before I took him. He was going to where the doe were. Ran into neighbor a few months later showed him the pic. He wondered where his buck went! grin

Not unusual at all. We have a six or eight big deer on our place. Not seeing any of them in the daylight. Exactly what you describe is what's showing up during the day on our place. And typically continues until after the first few cool fronts. I'll bet you start seeing some older deer pretty soon. They're starting to get bad attitudes. Bachelor groups are or will begin to disperse over the next couple weeks, depending on where you are. Good luck and...patience grasshoppa up

Checked cards yesterday, not as many images but there's a bachelor group of 4 that has a very fat 8pt and a nice 9-10 point that are hitting the protein hard.

At our lease, your experience in the opening post would have the feeder owner giddy. Usually anyone who is seeing the bigger bucks on camera during the summer won't see them during season, they usually show up at other feeders as soon as the season starts (if we see them at all that season).

Our bigger deer are still hitting protein and all at night. Corn feeders have a bunch of small to medium sized bucks and the usual does and fawns.
