 Advice on knife handle

I have a couple knives that I would like to use but the burrs on the handles make them kinda uncomfortable to hold. If your referring the barbs on the button on the butt of the knife there's only one thing you can do; sand them down. It's obvious you can't have both. I sand them down occasionally depending on the length of the handle, those appear to be hitting you on the heal of your palm. If you have a belt sander you can go over them lightly until you don't feel them bothering you. If you have a buffer you then then buff them and they will appear white and give the antler some character.
I don't know where you're from, but I'm in Burleson south of Ft. Worth, I would sure do it for you, only takes a few minutes.

I'll try to find a belt sander and give it a try. I'm in Nacogdoches TX pretty good distance from Ft. Worth or I would be knocking on your door.

David, i agree whole heartedly with Bob,,, don't be scared to knock off the rough edges,,,, if you don't have a belt sander you don't need one,,, if you have a wood rasp that will work as well on the antler part,, just use a wood rasp, then a regular file,, then sand paper,,,, just go slow,,, you can always take a little more off, but it wouldn't really look right or work too good glueing stuff back on if it's the brass guard that is bugging you,, just use some metal working files and sand paper to sort that out,, again take your time and you should be fine best of luck and GOD bless

No just the antler burrs I'll try sanding if I can find a sander if not I'll try the rasp,file sandpaper. Thanks for the tips.

No just the antler burrs I'll try sanding if I can find a sander if not I'll try the rasp,file sandpaper. Thanks for the tips. David you can also get some sand paper and cut it in four inch strips fold them like a belt, 2"x11" put the knife blade in a vise and pretend you are a shoe shine man across the barbs. It doesn't take much, they are fairly soft. Or you can make a sanding block use some 220 grit and sand the ones bothering you.
