As I was cleaning out an old backpack, I found this recipe. These are like mini deer blocks. If my memory serves me correctly we did leave out the grape Kool Aid. The handwriting on the original tells me we used this in the 1990's.
4 cups feed corn 2 cups peanut butter 3 cups corn meal 2 cups salt 3 cups molasses 2 cups grape Kool Aid
Buy the corn, salt and molasses at the feed store. The salt and molasses are cattle feed supplements. Molasses comes in a gallon jug and the salt a 40 or 50 pound sack
Mix all dry ingredients first.
Mix peanut butter and molasses and heat on low until a liquid. Then pour the peanut butter and molasses in the dry mix. If too wet add a little more cornmeal or corn, if too dry add a little more molasses. Make sure all dry ingredients are coated well and press mixture into 4 bread loaf pans that are coated with grease like Crisco, so it won't stick to the pans.
Bake at 250 for about 5 hours, then set them out to cool and harden up.

Sounds like the food loaves we used to feed unruly convicts in the prison.
There's only 2 seasons in a year. Deer season and getting ready for deer season.
