Can I plant this. it is about 1/2 the cost of other oats I've priced. Just wondering?

I looked at those last weekend and talked to a guy at our local TSC ... he said likely only 50-60% germination and he would recommend their seed oats ... so I bought seed oats for the first time in over 20 years ... twice or more the price.

Feed oats, planted them in the past and had decent results when we had good moisture and rains, fertilizer is a must, you can go to your local co-op and ask for the floor sweepings I've got 3/4's of a super sack full of mixed fertilizer this year. The only bad thing is the unknown mixture but its cheap and usually works. The deer never complained either.

I've planted whole oats in E TX for years but I do over seed them and pray for rain.

I bought TAMO 411 certified oats today for $19/bag. Up over a $1 from last year. I stay away from the feed oats due to some of it being spring type oats that could freeze out in a bad winter or just to many weed seed in the bag.

We have planted feed oats for several years with good results. Overgrazing due to small plots, lack of rainfall, and armp worms have been our down fall, but if it rains they always grow.

Feed oats here too. In fact, the guy at TSC told us to try it. They always have a high germination rate. As long as we get rain.

I used them several years back in E TX with good results. I’ve used these, buck forage, Whitetail Inst, and bob oats. Actually, My impression is I saw more deer on plots year I used TSC Oats. Not enough to say oats or luck made a difference.
