Cow- (weight unknown) vs Feeder ( just filled with 325lb corn plus feeder 150lb ) approx. 450 to 475lb total

edit: The pics don't show the 3 t post feeder was wired too. cow ripped it loose. Two of us could not pick feeder back up as it was so full had to get a 3rd person to help. going to let feeder empty out some before we move it back and tie it back down

Cow fought with feeder from 8:09am to 8:22 before she got loose

best we can tell from feeder horn was stuck thru the Varmint cage

All I can say Ramball36 builds good feeders takes a licking and keeps on ticking

Been there, done that! You need a much stronger feeder set up for that.

And what's even worse, is cows do not digest the corn. After the cows come through at some of our feeders, their "droppings" have all the corn in it also!

Uggh.......!

Cattle are SO stupid.

I was walking from my living room toward the kitchen one morning, look out the window into the pasture behind our home and see one of the young Bulls running around with a ladder around his head. How he managed to get his stupid head in it...I will never know.

Of course, the bull was in a semi-panic trying to get this thing off of his neck. I walked him up to one of the pens and shut the gates..but he didn't want me anywhere near him and was getting more worked up by the minute.

Had to rope his rear legs tie that off to a post so he couldn't run from me and then fight him to twist the ladder back off his STUPID head! I swear its not worth having cows/cattle sometimes.

I may switch to horses. They bring their own set of problems...but at least they are smarter.

Don't count on horses being any smarter. I looked out one time and saw my head horse standing in the middle of a cattle guard with all four legs between the pipes. The only thing that saved him was the fact that he was hobble broke and he knew not to struggle.

In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years.

Wow. That’s a crazy sequence of photos. Hopefully the feeder is salvageable.

LOL that's a ramball36 built feeder takes a licking but keeps on ticking - it is kind of oval shaped on top now - did not pull lid off as it was 100% full - have to see when it empty's out

Yep, horses can prove challenging as well. I worked part-time on a ranch many years ago. One evening I decided to go fish in one of the many ponds. I started near the dam, but had worked my way to the other side when one of the ranch horses came over and started nuzzling my tackle box which was still sitting near the dam. By the time I made it back over, he had kicked my tackle box into the pond, and managed to get a lure hooked to the corner of his mouth. I grabbed one of the other hands and a bridle and we managed to cut the barb off the hook and remove with no serious issues. If he would have swallowed the lure, it would have been much worse.

I think NOT...not Angora's anyway. We used own 800 acres in Goldthwaite and leased out 400 of it (a couple of years) to a rancher to run his goats on. I can't think of a single time I was on that property that we didn't find dead goats with heads tangled in the fencing, legs hung up the V of trees, stuck in the mud around tanks, you name it...IF there was a way for them to get into trouble...they'd find it.

After the goats (too many for that property) had pretty much denuded the land and created a 'browse line' up the trees for the first 5', we had to end that lease and it was about 3 yrs. before the land recovered from it. We never leased it again for Cattle, Goats or Sheep.

My brother and I were to watch the neighbors goats and cows while they were away when I was visiting him in Montana. They said the goat can get caught in the fence but they had him 5 years and he always got free, just don't hurt him. I am telling you they were gone for about 2 hours when that goat got stuck so bad he was destroying the fence so we grabbed him and cut off one horn with a hacksaw, he was bleeding all over the place. When they got home they absolutely believed we did it to make them mad and never really forgave my brother! Stupid goat.
