Just saw on the news that we might get our first actual cool front right before the last weekend of September. Mid 80's for a high sounds down right pleasant right now.

would be real nice for opening morning.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

That's about my luck, we have a family reunion that weekend and I haven't been in years.

I vote for a cool front. I was not counting on one until about the 3rd week in Oct. That about the time for the first change for decent cool down.
Thanks, Billy

I still have trouble getting fired up for deer hunting when it's over 80. Maybe a morning sit if it cools down into the 60's at night.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

Must be from up north, I checked the weather upon reading your post and didn't notice any change in weather.

NWS Ft. Worth mentioned yesterday in their forecast discussion that there may be a pattern change late next week allowing a cold front to enter North Texas. However, this morning the models had backed off of that and NWS doesn't see any changes in the foreseeable future.

First week in October is usually the first cooler weather. Fingers crossed.

I'm probably going to wait until the 2nd weekend before hunting anyway, and it should hopefully be cooling down by then... or maybe I won't because I'm itching to hit the woods already. Similar to the weather, I can't make up my mind.

I remember one October evening I sat in my tree blind in a T shirt and sweating. About an hour before legal shooting time ended a front blew in and with light rain and wind, and I about froze trying to get to my truck and put the heater on.

Can't depend on the weather man, hot, cool, or cold I'm going anyway. Going the 23rd to get everything set up for youth weekend, hopefully this year we can just hunt and relax, should have everything in tip top shape after this trip.

I generally run the AC in the blind the first few weekends of archery, too dang hot.

My two sons will sit in a box blind in the STX heat and shoot pigs in the summer, you know you have the sickness when you're willing to sit in that kind of heat.
I'll take dry air first, the humidity is a killer

Just saw on the news that we might get our first actual cool front right before the last weekend of September. Mid 80's for a high sounds down right pleasant right now. Don't tease us. You could end up with a life time ban. This heat is just ridiculous. I accept July and August, but dam it. September these temps need to become reasonable.
