Last gas ford I had was a 2011 FX4 F-150 with a 5.0.

Truck was great and tough as nails. with 33's on it it got 15-17 mpg with how I drive. Had 174k on the ODO when I sold it and it drove like it was brand new. Before I sold it I bought a then new 2015 Chevy 1500 LTZ Z71. For whatever reason I just liked that truck better. It seemed to handle better, was more comfortable to drive, and I liked the interior better. That said, it did need a lift kit to get it to stock ford height and I had to replace the front suspension 3 times ( but had aftermarket control arms so I can't say its a chevy issue).

I'm torn if I were to buy a 1/2 ton tomorrow. I do like the new fords better than the new chevys in terms of looks. I would also say that I think the Ford is a bit tougher truck as well.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

We've had numerous Ford's and Chevy's in our small oilfield fleet over the past 20 years, all 4x4's. We've had great luck with most of the F150';s and Z71 Chevy's, and a small sample of the same that were pretty average. Most of them got well over 100k on them with no issues, several of each easily passed 200k, and a couple of F150's over 300k. The Chevy's ride more like a car, are quieter, and get better fuel mileage, The Ford's ride more like a truck (not saying that's a bad thing). We are sticklers about strict maintenance programs.

Real world experience with the 4x4 3.5 ecoboost. I had two back to back, the first had 3.73s, and the second had 3.55s. The 3.55s got a solid 2 mpg better, but the towing with the 3.73s was amazing in comparison. I was never hesitant to pass with the 3.73s and a loaded trailer. Both trucks unloaded will flat out run. The 3.55s tow fine by the way, it just won’t set you back in the seat with a trailer like the 3.73s will. They have the same tow rating or at least did then.

Bottom line unless you’re going to tow much the 3.55s is likely a better option for fuel mileage. When I had the 3.73s the F250 sat a lot unless something heavy had to be towed. That was more for suspension reasons that towing capabilities.

I think they look more like a Chevy than a Ford.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Chevy is having tranny troubles go with the Ford

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

I thought it was their breaks? Didn’t they just recall 3.4 million trucks today?
