Need some help on aging this deer. Looks older to me but I’m not sure if he is old enough.

What is your definition of “old enough” ?

That deer is every bit of 4-5, probably older. Not sure what you are looking for, but he would be dead at first site on my place.

5 years plus on this place. It’s hard to tell from the trail cam photos. Just wanted some more opinions on this deer if he looked like he has reached his full potential.

Some pics he looks 5 and others he looks 7. I would call him a 5 yr old based off of these pics though. Pics 30 days from now will show more.

STX2019, the first picture makes him look younger, my original though looking at the other pics was at least 5-6 but then saw that first pic again and thought he "could" be a little younger at 4-5, but he is old enough for your criteria.

Question, the buck in the back of the pen in the first pic....you got any more of him? In that one pic he looks better than that buck in question. Hard to tell with that one pic tho.

Either way, if you are looking for older than 5, shoot the wide old dude and don't look back. Nice looking buck and I doubt there would be much more he is gonna gain.

Thank you for the responses. Excited for the season. Here are some pictures of the other buck he is running with right now. I believe this one could use another year and is a year or two younger than the wide buck possibly.

I am with the Ranch Hand on this one grin

Brisket sagging but very little sway to the back, rump not large and the face does not look old, not a lot of gray or light hair around the cheeks and eyes and the forehead is average width, so another 5 here up
