My MIL got rear ended waiting to turn into their driveway when I was dating my wife. Almost a decade later she has a nervous twitch and cant stop checking her rear view while waiting to turn. The guy hit her (she was at a complete stop) goin an estimated 55 mph.

My aunt got hit from behind at about 35 while she was driving her Chrysler Newport with the biggest trailer hitch U-Haul sold. The Olds that hit her was totaled, and she had two dings on the outside of her rear bumper. It did launch her through the intersection. Thankfully nobody was in the intersection at the time.

There is a lady around here with similar stuff on her van including a sign saying "don't rear end me or I'll sue for a million dollars". She goes around brake checking folks and word is she's been rear ended 3 times in the last year and a half.
