I sat with my ex-wife and daughter (8) and gave her the news that her stepdad had died. Years ago I would've attended his funeral to know where to piss on the ground. Now, I realize that he was a good man and treated my daughter well. We cried but my tears were for my daughter. I don't know why I'm sharing this but I am.

I am very sorry for thier loss. Even forced blended families create unexpected emotional bonds. This will be an enormous impact on each of you.
I know you have the grace and strength to be the man your daughter needs.
If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?
