Okay who can fill me in about the so called Enhanced Driver License? Was told you must have it by an out of state friend but nothing on the wife's paperwork from the State of Texas. What gives? Thanks

They are upgrading security features. Need one next fall for air travel. No rush to go get one.

Not enhanced. It is “Real ID”. Got to have it don’t by 10/2020 if you plan to travel. TSA will not accept anything less after that date. https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/federalRealIdAct.htm

Look for the Star. You might already have it. I do and never signed up for it. Might be the CHL.

They are upgrading security features. Need one next fall for air travel. No rush to go get one. You can still use a passport, many air travelers don't have US Driver license.....

There was a previous thread about the star. It was brought up when I posted about my new drivers license last year. Wasn't That star was for Disabled Veterans?

Nothing to sign up for and it isn’t optional. When you renew you will get the new one.

My license is around 4 years old and has it. I do need a new passport though for trip next year.

Just received a letter from the state yesterday telling me I needed to get a new license.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

I got a letter from the state saying I could renew early to update mine, did it online in about 5 mins. and got it within 10 days in the mail.
it included the almost 2 yrs. I had left on my current so now I am good till 2027.

When I renewed mine in May, they took electronic thumbprints. Is therr more to star than that? The star has nothing to do with us or anything we do. It's the state putting it on the DL's to show that the State of Texas ID's are compliant with the federal regulations.
