From the Midland Reporter News, DPS detains suspect related to latest shooter threat. https://www.mrt.com/news/article/MPD-DPS-detains-suspect-related-to-latest-14416712.phpThe Midland Police Department is now reporting that the Department of Public Safety has detained a suspect in connection with reports of a shooter coming from Lamesa to Midland.
“Upon further investigation, the Texas Department of Public Safety currently has the suspect detained,” MPD reported on its Facebook page.
Earlier Thursday, MPD reported there wasn’t enough credible information to substantiate reports that a shooter is coming from Lamesa to Midland.

It will when they start executing them instead of feeding them for the rest of their lives. There has been a few studies that both agree and disagree with that. Some say that capital punishment does not deter people. I believe that most criminals, and the occasional murderer, feel they are smart enough not to get caught or at least the odds are in their favor they will escape punishment.

One major study shows that 100% of executed murderers never murder again...  . But I do agree with you on the deterrence is questionable. When dealing with mental illness, deterrence may not even enter their thought process. I don't know if we have more people that have caught the crazy due to society, or if the information age has just made them more well known.

I’m guessing most will say no. So what is end game? How does this play out? Get more frequent? And like it or not, the age of the second amendment is rapidly closing. Almost half the country would end it right now.

It's not going to stop anytime soon. We live in a Godless, evil society in the USA. We murder millions of innocent, unborn, defenseless babies every year and nobody seems to care or think about that. Human life seems to not matter. Given this, why should anyone be surprised when crap like mass shootings happen? We have a heart problem in America, the human condition is in very, very dire condition. That ain't gonna change.
