My kids were drawn for youth GDE at San Angelo SP on Nov 16th. Never been there so any info for a successful trip and hunt is appreciated!

I hunted there years ago (around 2013.) We hunted on compartment #7. It was a doe/spike hunt with 3 deer limit each. We came out of there with 1 spike and 5 does. Take plenty of corn. They did not mow the roads or lanes so you might need to take a couple of small tripods to hunt out of. Back then, you drew a number out of a hat and that was your compartment. They did not have any blinds so bring something.

I hunted there two years ago in #3. There were blinds with a 2x6 for a seat...take some lawn chairs. I'll second taking lots of corn and put it out as soon as they turn you loose.

I will definitely put out plenty of bait and carry our own blinds/chairs. Our limit says 4 deer total so I am guessing they have a good population there. Any certain exotics in that area we might happen to see?
