Went to get some deer corn this morning and they only had half of what I wanted. But...there was a stack of Bait Corn in 4 flavors. I bought some of the peanut flavored corn. I’ll put it in the yard feeder and watch the deer to see if they like it.

Any of ya’ll using the flavored stuff?

Just noticed that the flavor is Peanut Butter. I just loaded it in the feeder, which was near empty, so I should have soon have a culinary report from the deer.

I assume you're using a broadcast feeder of some kind? Unless they're not eating what you've been throwing, how are you going to tell any difference? What are you going to do for those with a peanut allergy?

If they die from a peanut allergy, it should be quick. We will eat those. Problem solved.

As for how to tell if they like it better, I’m not sure about how to tell. Unless of course, they don’t eat it.

The does ate every scrap and kernel of the peanut butter flavored corn. But, they always ate all of the regular stuff too. I haven’t learned much.

S&S Feed in Groesbeck, Tx. 40# bag is about $8.50, so it's more expensive than straight corn. I might try Apple flavored next time

When we hunted near Gorman we would see deer in the peanut fileds. They will also eat pecans, get a sack of year old pecans and dump them, if the deer find them they will crack them and leave the hulls for you.

The 7 point has moved in to take over the peanut butter flavored corn. The does try to get to it, but he sticks em with his rack and moves them out. The fawns are never allowed on the corn now, poor dears.

If I were a deer, I would appreciate the change in flavors.

I've used 'Red chain' peanut flavored protein. They couldn't get enough of that stuff.

Why not just put out some peanuts?

Cost of peanuts gotta be better than anything processed and peanut flavored.

I guess laid over didn’t read the whole thing. I needed 10 bags of regular corn and the place only had 6, but they had plenty of the flavored corn, so I got 4 bags. It was more expensive. As for the deer, they eat it to the last kernel, but they did that with regular corn too. I doubt I’ll buy more..

I stopped by HEB on the way to the ranch to grab a few bags of apple scented corn as that is what I have always used and they also had orange scented corn from a different manufacture for the same price. The worker told me that they can barely keep it in stock, people buy it by the pallet when it's available. I purchased a few bags and will give it a try.

First, craft beer. Now craft deer corn. What's next? Gender reveal tags?

Went for more corn yesterday, and they were out of ‘regular’ again. But they had white Oak Acorn flavored, so I got a few bags. Maybe that big Boar will go in the trap after it.
