I've been in television, since 1979...…………… I've seen, way too many commercials...… but, it hasn't, eff,eff,effected me so far...…… they ALL suck...….

The smoking commercials where people seemed shocked to find out that smoking is actually bad for you. These commercials normally feature a person missing half their face. I already knew that smoking was stupid so I really don't need to see it three times a day.

The main thing I've noticed about commercials over the last few years is this... for some reason advertisers feel a need to force "alternative lifestyles" into their ads. They account for less than 10% of the population, but judging by TV ads you'd think it was 50/50.
I don't have any issues with them or the way they want to live their lives, not my monkeys and not my circus. Live and let live, but the pendulum has swung way the other way out of proportion. Being PC and pandering to them is more important than anything else.
A simple balance would be perfect. Agree

Farmers Insurance and Subaru have some good commercials. Yeah, especially Subaru's gotta be paying for the best on Madison Ave. Very good ads. And J.K. Simmons in the Farmers ads is one heckuva talented actor. He gets the American male.

I don't change channels, but I'm like a striking rattler to get to the mute button on any bottom-feeding personal injury attorney ad. And at night, in San Antonio, that's just about all the commercials. Everybody's gonna get reech.  And on IH10, between Vance Jackson and Fresno, every billboard is one of the shysters. Most of their offices are right there too. Scum. Agree with Creek, love that mute button.

A simple balance would be perfect. Agree It's common in the movies as well, even when the setting is 50 or more years ago. They insert a homosexual when it's obvious the character has absolutely no connection with the story line.

It's no wonder though,EVERYBODY there drives like a bat outta hell.
