My wife has bad about changing the channel whenever she sees a commercial she can't stand to watch. I'll be the first to agree there are commercials that are much harder to stomach than others, but I'm one who can ignore such things. I feel safe saying that if my wife saw Flo on the street, I would have to hold her back from wanting to slap that B.

The ones that I suspect people find most bothersome are some of the Progressive Insurance commercials that try to connect with social issues, cpap cleaners, and catheters. And while they're bothersome in a different way, I myself can't stand what I call the "wimpy man" commercials. "It's my money and I need it now." Well, if you had a job and weren't mooching off a woman you would have some money.

The insurance commercial with the Emu. Stupid.

Locally, the builder surplus commercial where the girl breaks the window with the hammer. Stupid.

The kid playing T-ball running to the lemonaide instead of first base. Progressive insurance ad.

Anything with feminine hygiene or male enhancement products.

I DVR almost everything anyway. Just skip thru and avoid all commercials.

Forgot one. Those nasal passage cleaners. I do change the channel whenever one of those starts.

I don't change channels, but I'm like a striking rattler to get to the mute button on any bottom-feeding personal injury attorney ad. And at night, in San Antonio, that's just about all the commercials. Everybody's gonna get reech.

And on IH10, between Vance Jackson and Fresno, every billboard is one of the shysters. Most of their offices are right there too. Scum.

I don't know why but Tom Selleck trying to look so sincere selling reverse mortgages just rubs me the wrong way.

The AIDS medicine commercials are bad. In my opinion, they have passed the line.

We have two DVR's I record everything I want to watch FFWD all commercials been doing it this way for a long time I can't stand going to the kids houses and listing to the T.V. constant belittling of Real Men..

That Progressive Insurance is the worst. "Jamie" I don't think never was a man.

The damn commercial that forces you to look at an old ladys butt because she's wearing an adult diaper.

The animal charities are just as bad. I can just see some old woman giving her last $50 to them after seeing all those poor dogs and cats.

Here lately it's the Conn's commercial where the blond haired dude crashes thru the wall. I'd like to slap that stupid looking grin off his face.

Lesbian couple whose daughter was denied by a doctor. It doesn't even say why they were denied.

And the one with the smokers with a hole in their throat. My wife hates that one.

I don't think I have seen a commercial in over 10 years I liked.

Now I'm wondering about the converse. What commercials do I like or are even amused by?

The main thing I've noticed about commercials over the last few years is this... for some reason advertisers feel a need to force "alternative lifestyles" into their ads. They account for less than 10% of the population, but judging by TV ads you'd think it was 50/50.

I don't have any issues with them or the way they want to live their lives, not my monkeys and not my circus. Live and let live, but the pendulum has swung way the other way out of proportion. Being PC and pandering to them is more important than anything else.

A simple balance would be perfect.
