Gold/Silver ratio had got to a pretty extreme level of over 90/1. With the recent run up in silver it is back down to 80/1 which is still very high considering the historic level is under 20/1.
Silver goes up faster than gold in bull markets and drops faster than gold in bear markets.
Opportunity to go heavy silver and then back into gold later.

Ebay. Usually the cheapest and you can use a credit card to pay. It is also delivered to your house and don't have to worry about using large amounts of cash.

Not sure where you got your numbers, but Gold is up way more than 5% this year....it's up almost 22%.

Silver and gold streamers such as Wheaton Precious Metal and Franco Nevada
Also GBS, its an ETC based in London backed by real gold for a yearly 0.4% management fee

All three are easy to buy and sell within seconds.
Physical gold and silver is a hassle to buy and a real pain to sell at a right price.

I agree with this here. Plus you have to worry about a large amount of gold on hand. Just one more thing to worry about. The local guys rarely pay 95% spot for Eagles. Normally I can get close to spot if I ship them registered mail. I am out of gold now and won't buy anymore physical gold. Too much hassle. Still waiting for the silver to get up a bit before I liquidate it.

Beware, a vast amount of silver coins on ebay are very real looking fakes. Some even weigh correct.
