Yeah so me and the ol' lady got drawn for Laguna Atascosa archery deer 11/15-11/19 and the hunt includes unlimited nilgai antelope. I've been told that they are in decent numbers down there so was I am just curious if anyone has any experience chasing them at the NWR. Any info on what to expect would be awesome, and if you've got some juicy pointers, feel free to pm me haha

My good friend has been drawn the last two years, and has been unsuccessful both times. Saw plenty of Nilgai but they were always moving fast and outside of archery range. I actually got drawn for the weekend before you, so I'll be happy to share info. It's my first time and I don't have much reference, I've been hunting Nilgai once before (also unsuccessfully). Should be interesting!

Be prepared to hike or bike! If biking make sure you have the tires lined to help with thorns. If hiking be prepped to hike! Take advantage of the prescouting days so you can setup and checkout game trails for activity. Once you find a spot stay put! As other hunters are always moving and pushing game around. They might just push one towards you. Don't forget the game carts you will need them if you score. Best of luck!
