Hi everyone! I am currently in Round Rock and an Army veteran, I have only been living here in Texas for 3 years now. I have never hunted at all but was always interest. I spend all my time fishing as that has been my hobby since I was a little kid. Thinking about wanting to maybe start off dove hunting as I heard its one of the cheaper ways to start. I have a mossberg 500 but its not a hunting one (home defense) so I'm assuming I will need to get one made for hunting. So just wanted to say hi and see what I can learn on this forum.

Welcome to the forum , there are quite a few A-holes here but you’ll figure out who they are pretty quick if you do some lurking through the post.
Go get you an 870 wing master and find a dove lease and burn through some shells. Good luck, and welcome once again.

Your Mossberg may have the ability to swap barrels. That'd be the cheapest route. 26-28" would be good. Thank you for your service!
