We have 2 Fallow bucks as well as 2 Red Deer bucks and 1 Red Deer doe that have started to hit our feeders. We are on a small low fence lease and have a concern of the neighbors taking one or more of them. Would like to let them continue to grow ... none of the bucks have fully developed antlers. It is nice to see something different. What about taste of Fallow and Red Deer assuming we take one? Never had either one, what say the experienced hunters?

I rank Fallow deer 1 notch ahead of whitetail in taste and a Red deer are even better, so taking one now isn't a bad idea, but they would probably be a little better tasting if you could wait till it cools off a bit! It's a risk to wait but that's up to you!
