Shot this 175 lb at 75 yards. The bullet went through the meaty forward shoulder, through the thick end of the shoulder blade, before going through ribs, lungs, and eventually the liver. Bullet did not directly strike the spinal column, passing underneath it, but the boar went down in place. This is more akin to the 'devastating penetration and expansion' that I was expecting.
The ad below (Barnes Bullets) is chock full of Hyperbole.
Doesn't come in a load for the Grendel just yet, but for a few fortunate other's...they can now unleash the Hounds of Hell on pigs/other.... and do it out to 700 yards!
Well when it comes in Grendel, I just hope my rifle can handle such awesomeness!!!!!!!
I will be honest with you. I don't even use Super Premium in my truck. I am not sure about Super Premium components for my bullets. Let's see, they have the bullet and they have the tip. That is what constitutes "components" and they are both "Super Premium."
Their video is pretty much hyperbole as well, showing the temporary stretch cavity, which looks really dramatic, but they usually look really impressive with most brands, LOL. https://www.barnesbullets.com/ammunition/vor-tx-lr-rifle/
