i bought this truck in feb. 2018 new. it is 4x4, 4 door and has the 6.7 diesel. it now has a little over 40,000 miles. the only after market accessories i have on it is replacement bumper, gooseneck, 2" level kit, and supersprings on the rear. no chip. i have kept up regular maintenance. It has been in the shop about 6 times starting at about 25000 miles 1) death wobble 2) censor 3) another censor 4) replace 2 injectors 5) replace a couple more injectors and censor 6) replace entire fuel system, both pumps, all injectors, fuel rail (was in the shop for over a month 7) replace ecm and 2 injectors (they said it may be bad injectors It is currently in the shop and they don't know what is wrong with it. I don't think that it is the dealers fault, or the shop. they have been getting their information on what to do to the truck from a ford engineer who is now at the dealership working on it and still can't figure it out. They have me a ford fiesta as a loaner car lol. Im at a lost for words as i am still here paying on this truck while driving a micro car. I had put in for the ford buy back program and was denied because they said my truck did not fit Texas lemon law criteria. This truck has rarely pulled anything and was mainly highway miles. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks dean

Go ahead and file with the lemon laws. They jumped on one of mine that only had the wobble.

thanks bill. should i get an attorney to do it or just do it myself? I did mine myself before we had email. Just called and submitted a hand written report. They were eager.

I had a situation with a truck I bought. Went back to the dealer and talked to the GM. Had my proof of how many times it had been in the shop. Without much of an argument he agreed to buy it back at what I paid for it. Now given it had less than 10k miles on it and had been to that dealer over 10 times. All similar issues. I just feel bad for whoever bought it.

I got it from Lawrence Marshall in Hempstead.

A lot of your problem seems to be with fuel components and issues. Where do you buy your fuel from?

You're not going to get a lemon law buyback through the state at 40k miles. Texas lemon law only goes to 2 years, 24k mile, whatever comes first. Your best chance is a good sit down with the dealer to see if he'd be willing to work with you on trade in value for your inconvenience. If that doesn't work, blowing them up on social media with documented facts would be next.

Making me appreciate my 7.3 more and more. Why do they keep getting more expensive and less dependable? Sorry to hear it.

It’s 2017 Ford F-250 6.7 diesel Is it still under ESP Ford Extended Warranty? I know what I'd do if they aren't getting the truck fixed, shame um. That's nutz waiting on repair on a high dollar truck your making payments on. Go in and say this is the final straw . Have you tried taking it to a another dealership that has a mechanic that knows the 6.7's??

The problem with the lemon law in this instance is, it is based on the “ first 24 month or 24,000 mile whichever comes first ” ---> TxDMV /consumer protection/ Lemon Law Issue #4 ~ #7 are all fuel related. Have you or the dealer drawn a fuel sample from the tank & sent it to be analyzed? Poor fuel quality can be a cause. Any diesel mechanic worth 2 cents would've already check & eliminated the next suggestion. Air introduction / air entrainment in the fuel system will wreck injectors & fuel pumps. There are several methods of testing the fuel system from tank forward any diesel tech would know. Some 2017's have an issue with water infiltrating the upstream NOx module wiring harness connector causing corrosion and false DTC that most would attempt to resolve by replacing sensors. The fix is to replace the wiring harness and module. As far as I know there isn’t a repair pigtail available, yet. There are also a few that have poor wiring harness connectors / connection points in several locations that water gets into and causes all sorts of issues. Usually the 3 connectors where the spare tire is, 2 on drivers side frame rail. A few folks raise enough stink Ford extends the warranty to 200,000. Or ask the dealer to trade you out of the pickup. I'd ask the dealer for a full list of the DTC's used for diagnosis and if they've cleared all TSB's.

I try and fill up at truck stops or places that run a lot of diesel. The tank was completely drained the first time. It has a factory 100,000 mile power train warranty.

The current front end components are not as good as they used to be, we went from averaging 100k+ miles before rebuild to like 70k when we got the 2017’s. The replacement components seem to last much longer. I had one unit lose three injectors in 2017, and it has racked up over 200k miles since with no issues. The other few fuel system problems come from our guys putting def in the fuel tank. Good luck, it seems these modern mechanical marvels stump the engineers that make them all the time.

I’d try to trade it in at the dealership. Talk to the GM, you may be surprised.

sorry to hear about your trouble.
I have a 2017' Super Duty 6.7 and I just rolled 90k miles and have had none of the issues mentioned above and I do drive off-road almost daily.
I would def. have a sit down with the GM of the Dealership you bought it at.
I've not heard of anyone having issues with their 17's or 18's
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I would never get the DEF tank mixed up from the diesel. That would be a major issue though.

I had two 2017's 6.7 F250's One Lariat (30K mileage) other King Ranch ( current with 46K). Both mine have been stock no mods. Never had any of the issues you are having. I do not do leveling kits or anything with the suspension, so any changes would be suspect on your end. I do hear stories of bad diesel, but that real early on in 2011, which I had a new 2011 as well. Never had a problem and traded her in with 130K.
When you say bad injectors, what was the reason for them going bad? I am guessing water in fuel.
Either way sorry for the trouble. I am no wrench by any means, but I have been driving diesel since 1999. Logging over a million miles in diesels alone and have never any issues or problems with Ford diesels. I maintain regularly oil change about every 5-7K and fuel filter every other oil change.
Keep us updated.
