That's good to hear. As the crow flies I am hunting just a little ways south of Murray. Three weekends ago there were several local birds in the mesquites around our field, but I have not been out there since.

Sporadic south of Rising Star. Spotty at fields that were L-O-A-D-E-D in NE Taylor County last year.

This is good news. Hope they make it down to Graford at least.

Good luck!

Not seeing much in the cut corn and Milo around Taylor, Williamson County. Had quite a few in the wheat fields in Ballinger two weeks ago.

I counted 20 yesterday around where I live and watched local mallards fly at the last minute. More than what's been around that's for sure

It's shaping up to be a fantastic season. Dove populations are thriving this year thanks to spring rains. States to our north had similar spring conditions, which should result in strong numbers of additional birds migrating to Texas later this season. Get ready to hunt some dove!

I suppose they gotta sell licenses.

Anyone around Plainview? It's always loaded up with doves in the winter when I go there to hunt quail, but I have no idea about Sep.

Yeah...I'm sure there are birds around but this is the fewest I've seen in the Williamson county area in years.
