Was cleaning up weeds and small under growth at the entrance gate to the ranch. Like an idiot, went to do this with shorts and flip flops on. Yep, stepped back and felt some stinging, pretty sure it was a small bullnettle. Felt like 1000 fire ants stinging at once on my right ankle. Anyone know how to get relief from bullnettle sting ?

Don't scratch or rub it. Flush with water. Unless you're allergic, it should go away in an hour or so.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

Best remedy is don't get stung by it by wearing flip flops.
(Sorry had to say that)
It sucks, got hit dove hunting last year through the leg on my hunting pants.

One time when I was younger My Husky got out of yard. If you know anything about huskies they like to run, so I started chasing him. We wound up in a huge field of bull nettle. I didn't notice until I was about 50 yards into it. As I turn around I noticed I was surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of white flowers. I was also wearing shorts!

Does that work or just fun to watch someone try it?

Actually feeling a little better now, right after it started stinging I wiped it with a sweat rag dipped into the cooler and came to the house. Washed it good and then alcohol prep pads (all we had) then found some anti-itch cream in the first aid kit. Repeated the wash and apply process when stinging starts back. Helps to keep it cool.

I was tearing out a chainlink fence today at my place and got it all over my arm but I think I was dirty and sweaty enough that it didn't really bother me, just for a couple minutes.

I called a friend of mine from East Texas and he said “soak it in cider”... I told him “maybe your wife, not mine!”...

The front of my shins were heavily exposed to the plants. After I got home many hours later, the above is what I did, the used Benedryl spray to help reduce the itching.

Peeing on it does work. As a kid running through the fields it was easiest and quickest way for relief. As pre teen boys no one gave a care that you whipped it out and peed on your leg. Today, your kid might end up in CPS custody. Side note, the Caddo Indians would use the nut from the plant as a pain killer. If you harvest it at right time and roast it correctly it has an effect similar to mild doses of morphine. Again, nature is a beautiful thing. I won’t give actual details of how Indians did this.
