Every year, we lose several Oak trees, Pecan or Hickory trees this size. Rather that getting cut up and split up for firewood, I would love to see what someone that does tables, specialty furniture, or even totem poles, could do with this old growth timber.
If you know someone that could use this kind of timber, let me know, and we may be able to help each other out. I've got two trees on the ground right now about this same age. This ought to be interesting. Thanks.

Contact lds on here- he makes beautiful live-edge tables.
I make custom Mesquite tables, benches etc...live edge stuff. The reason I use mesquite instead of oak which I have in abundance is that oak keeps splitting as it dries and is hard to deal with in big pieces because of that. Mesquite is a beautiful wood that is fun to work with and dry or still a little wet it behaves itself nicely. You can burn green mesquite and it almost the same as burning dried wood.
