Your right about people not being accountable for their own action but that not only applies to the drug user and abusers, it also applies to the quack doctors who prescribe them when they should not and the Pharmaceutical companies doing their best to make it to easy for rogue distributors and doctors to do so.

Personal responsibility...just because you get a script doesn't mean you have to use/abuse it. Don't know how any company can stay in business in this age.

I was in that cycle for many years and I get how easy it is to have a crutch like that but never EVER have I thought to go after the manufacturers of pain meds to get paid because of MY choices. Ever. Even now while Tylenol is the strongest thing I’ll take.


There are warnings all over that stuff. How some politician convinced this judge to rule that way, I’ll never know.

When I had grafting done, the dentist gave me a bottle of opioids plus prescriptions.
When I went home I flushed em in the toilet and fought the pain with Tylenol.

You can become addicted to them within 3 days, so no thank you.

I know plenty of people who’s families are DESTROYED due to being addicted to them pills in combination with alcohol.
That one 56 yr dude I know takes oxy’s, alcohol and anti depressants. He looks like 70 and acts very weird.

I think you guys are missing the point entirely. The state sued because they are forced to deal with the fallout. It's costing them a fortune. It has 0 to do with accountability.

I agree it is BS. If they are responsible for this judgement then big alcohol should pay up as well. Logic works the same if you equate the supplier as being the enabler.

Do any doctors or other professionals prescribe alcohol? I think its a little different. But I do agree people need to own up to their own issues.

I don't know, Ive never taken pain meds more than Ibprophin or Tylenol. When I was in highschool they tried to prescribe me Accutain (sp) for acne, one of the side affects was suicidal thoughts, I said no thanks I'll live with zits.
