Doctor said I need to do a cancer screening, something about a colonoscopy. Does anyone have any tips that might help? Thanks in advance.

Age? If you're 50 or older, definitely get it done. May want to get it done at an even younger age if you have a family history of cancer.

Lot of discussions about this on the forum. Just follow the instructions, it is definitely no fun, but the alternative could be worse.

I did one about 6 years ago, Trying to schedule on as we speak.

From what I remember you drink some kind of liquid and you get the Hershey Squirts for a few hours, You go in the next morning and get the colonoscopy, I was lightly sedated. Once I woke up my anal area was greased up and no pain.

More tonsils are sore just from the pre checkup. I cant imagine the whole thing.

uh, you might be thinking of endoscopy if tonsils are sore ... opposite end from colonoscopy

Either procedure is a piece of cake! Just get it done.

you can do the poop test screening, whole lot easier than the liquid cleanse.

you have to drink a gallon of mix in about an hr. then go finish off the current roll of tp and start on another one. no fun at all!

He is correct, east but not a piece of cake. Agent Orange exposure had me on an annual schedule.

Nothing to it after you get past running to the bathroom. Just a good way for the Dr. to check and then tell you all is well. Go for it!

The actual colonoscopy is not bad, its the prep for it that sucks.. They have to flush out your system. You will spend most of the prior evening on the commode. I think there
is a product called butt cream you need to get.

A colonoscopy is not that bad. It’s when they find something wrong down there that hurts. I had a foot of colon cut out a few months ago and that will damn sure get your attention.

I learned something with my first one... you need to be real easy when you clean yourself up after each trip to the john. If not, you will rub yourself raw because it’s like acid coming out and you will probably go 10-20 times throughout the evening. Get you the softest tp you have and be easy.

Had one. Kept it to myself.

I am currently fighting my third battle with colon cancer, and had no family history. Please get it done, you don’t want any part of this. As far as the prep goes, if you do the over the counter, with Gatorade, have some white wine while cleaning yourself out.

I'm 60 and waiting on the Pill like they use in Israel.
