It’s been nearly 10 years since I’ve bought a Scope and thus 10 years since I’ve researched scopes. What is the best bang for the buck with entry level hunting glass.
In the old days I considered the Nikon Prostaff At $159 the clearest reliable Scope at that price point available. Now they have come out with 12 different models with price points all over the place so I don’t know if they are something to consider. I did pick up an illuminated Burris that seems decent. Are the new Burris Full Field II still better than Nikon.
I’m running a vortex 5-15 HS midway special on my Tacticool rifle. Do any of their sub viper Scope lines offer much for value? I was very unimpressed with the crossfire 6-20 I had a while back.
Can anything compete with the Zeus’s conquest in the $400 ballpark?
I’ve never drank the Leupold Koolaid, just thought Nikon and Burris offered much clearer glass for much less money.
Help me out?

Burris FFII would be an easy choice for me personally.

I don’t know that there’s much better than the zeiss conquest for a $300 to $400 budget (not the Terra). You can find a used 3-9x40 pretty easily for around $300.

Leupold vx3 second I had one of the old FFP 3-9 swfa and got real turned off on the glass especially when I compared to my current vortex HS. Do they have a new affordable option with better light transmission?

GPO, Burris, Meopta MeoPro, Athlon & Hawke all offer quality scopes at affordable pricing.

Scot, I've got a used Leupold VARI-X III in 4.5-14 x 40 with a regular duplex reticle. It came off my Rem 700 270.
Condition is very good. I just went with something illuminated. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. I haven't listed it yet in the marketplace, but saw your posting and thought it may help. I've got rings and mounts ready to go for a 700 if it helps.

Another vote for the Fullfield II.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.
