I purchased a game camera from Cabela’s before they were bought out by Bass Pro. At the time, Cabela’s advertised their cameras had a lifetime warranty, so I purchased with confidence that I’d be able to return. I attempted to take the camer back today due to excessive false triggers only to find out the following. Customer service employee tells me that since Bass Pro took over they no longer honor the Cabela’s warranty. I would have assumed Cabela’s would have honored the warranty on any camera sold before the buy out. Pretty sorry on their part.

I doubt it will do any good, but I’ll call their corporate offices next week.

I would hope it was just a typical Customer Service worker not knowing and Corporate will remedy the situation, but these days who knows.

Don't give up on it so easy.

I got a Cabelas Crappie rod for Christmas year before last. Fished with it for the first time this past June and it broke on the first fish. It was clearly a defect. Took it to Cabelas without a receipt and the lady at the service desk gave me the same line about it not being warranted because of the buy out. I politely asked to talk to a manager and he gave me store credit for the value of the rod since it was no longer made. Went over to the rod section and picked out a more expensive BPS model and paid the difference for the upgrade.

I lost hope when I tried purchasing a Handgun from the one in Buda. They told me since my “home of record” is in Japan, unless I had orders for here in Texas, I couldn’t purchase a handgun. I have a valid DL and my Home of record is on my license. Oh no they even called their store manager over and he had to break it down slowly to me like I was retarded. I told them I even purchased an AR lower the year before living in japan.

No way in heck I’d take that for an answer, and I’d stand there and get as loud as I needed to be to get it taken care of. Right is right.

I was in Bass Pro today and they have plenty of Cabelas merchandise currently for sale. It’s all the same. Tell them to get bent and make this right.

I just googled it, pretty cool. Competition is a good thing.

It takes patience watching them try to cross reference the new Bass Pro item number from the Cabela's number when you ask about price

Post it up on their Facebook page, they always seem to respond to that.

Just the greeter alone pushing you to sign in for their credit card alone is f annoying.
I also never give em my phone nr at checkout. Thats how you get spam calls.

The only reason im going there is to find the 28 gauge Kent upland bismuth ammo.
They are constantly mislabeled and you find them in the upland section with a pheasant on it.

Them employees think its tox load since there is a pheasant on the box and says UPLAND

They make excellent duck loads in nr 6. Last year I bought all them 20 boxes they had for $12.99 a box.
Midway in their mid 30’s

Just copied this off Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas website, under frequently asked questions;

Will my Cabela's lifetime guarantees be honored by the new company and can these items be returned at Bass Pro Shops locations?
-
Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's will continue honoring all lifetime guarantees and any other warranties on its products. Customers can make a return or claim at any location for a refund or exchange for a comparable item.

I’ve had a few issues like yours with some very uninformed Cabela's Employees. I print a copy of their stated policy and bring it with you to the store, If the customer service employee doesn’t satisfy you, asked to talk to the store manager. I’ve never left disappointed.
