Hey everyone, been a while since I posted here.
Jan 2018 I had a pretty severe heart attack combined with 2 strokes. Took me a few months to recover, but eventually got back to some normalcy. I hadn’t gone back to work yet and before my heart attack had made a few knives the old fashioned way with files and a jig.
I decided I wanted to start making more knives in less time so I took the plunge and bought a good 2x72 belt grinder, lots of belts, extra tooling arm, small wheel attachment, knife steels, built a propane forge, metal cutting vertical bandsaw, etc.

Well, come to find out there are issues I now deal with daily that make it hard for me to do any work on knives. Guess I am just now coming to terms with the fact I am not likely to get back to making any knives as I can manage my issues ok, but they won’t allow me to...

So, now I have a barely used grinder and many other tools and products that just sit there.

I would like to see them go to someone who will use them, so wanted to ask if any of you know of a good place where I can list the stuff for sale and get a good price for it (where people know what it is and how much it cost to begin with)? I do not want to ship grinder or larger items due to weight, so local is preferred for the larger items.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Sorry to hear of your health issues Sir! I just started messing around with bladesmithing and depending on what you have (and if you were willing to ship) i might be interested in some of the small tools and blade steels. Others here may be interested as well. past here i'd look into joining some of the different knife and bladesmithing/blacksmithing forums and try selling there.

Thanks, I’d have to take stock of all that I have and come up with individual prices or bulk prices and shipping would depend. Some of the steel are 1/4” thick 2”x36” size so shipping might be costly. Others would fit in a smallish box but then weight would play a factor depending on how much was in a box, etc.

I’ll start taking inventory and pics this weekend to get an idea of what all I even have at this point.

If you are on Facebook Texas Knife Makers Guild has a page; you can list anything knife making related on there and it will sell. If your are not on Facebook you can send me a list of what you have for sale and price I can post them on there for you along with an email to contact your or your phone number if you like.
You might also try Craigslist in your area; I've bought and sold a few things on there.

I'd love to have another grinder but I have three now and no room for hardly anything else.

I'm going put you on my daily prayer list brother.

usps has bxs, that will ship for flat rate that might work for smaller pc, the small priority is $7.80, the next size is something like $14.00, might want to check them out, you can order bxs shipped to your door step, no cost.

Thanks Colt, I would be willing to ship smaller items, just meant that the grinder is over 100 lbs and would require freight shipping in the $200 or more range and not wanting to arrange freight and such.

TKG has a big event in Baird on Sept 21. You'd be welcome to bring a truck full. Or like Jank said, get on the TKG FB page and post a list.

There have been a few people reach out to me here, whom I’m working with.
I’m going to get out there and do an inventory this weekend, be able to put together a list of “packages” like the belt grinder and all the belts that would be included (50 belts). That way people get the ancillary supplies that go to a particular item. Then, anything else that doesn’t specifically go with another larger item, I’ll make lists of those, probably combining some items where it makes sense to sell as a group rather than individually and list those with prices in the classifieds here first. Then on the FB page, then if things don’t sell, it may be worth it to load the truck and head to Baird.

Thanks for the heads up!
