“600 rounds of bullets” hahaha , what a moron. Wonder how many bullets are in a round? I couldn’t read any more of that BS.

This guy is an idiot. Bonnie and Clyde didn't use submachine guns. They used BARs.

"he declared that the law would mean that the public no longer would be at the “mercy of the gangsters, racketeers and professional criminals.”"
This was said about a gun control law in 1934. It's the same talking point as today, and obviously, it has not worked for 85 year. When will the public figure that out!?

I am pretty sure they stole their weapons from an armory, correct me if I am wrong. I don't think any of the gangsters in the 30's procured any of their weapons through legal means.
Gun control has just been making it harder for law abiding citizens since the 30's.

As an aside, look at the last sentence of the article: Correction: Rep. Robert Lee Doughton’s first name was erroneously omitted in a previous version of this article. Wow. I do not think for one second it was an accidental omission from a left-leaning author. No way.

I seem to remember someone drawing attention to the scene in the recent movie The Highwaymen in which Kevin Costner (playing the role of Frank Hamer) goes into a gun store in West Texas and buys several firearms, one if not two of which were automatic rifles. As I now understand it, it was completely legal to buy automatic rifles at the time. Very good movie BTW.
The bigger question might be what changed since the 1930's that we now have so many crazy arse people wanting to kill a maximum number of innocent people they don't even know?

A generation of sociopaths who were raised by a phone rather than a mother and a father.

Correct. Prior to the law change any type of firearm could be purchased.
