It's now official. I am completely cordless as of today. I just gave away my electric hedge trimmer and the spliced extension cord that went with it. My Ryobi 40 volt takes care of three extra functions. I have a new 40 pole saw. Next on my list will be a cordless chainsaw. The pole saw is now serving my needs in that area. Any of you taking advantage of the improvement in the battery life of the new cordless tools? Have extra extension cords?

Gave my corded leaf blower to my son couple years ago. My echo 56volt blower works well. Still running gas saw and stick saw.

I have the EGO 56v and it's as powerful as any gas trimmer I've owned. Does a good job edging as well if you have a steady hand.

I have a edger attachment for my Ryobi. The old attachments work fine. It's my understanding that the attachments are somewhat universal.

A friend of mine has a friend that runs all cordless except for his large riding mowers in his lawn service. He said saves time and money in long run due to less down time for repairs.

How about electric drills? I just threw an old electric drill in the trash to keep from looking like a pack rat.

I still like gas powered lawn equipment. I use cordless and corded drills, there are some heavy duty jobs that cordless won’t work.

I have a cordless makita drill but that's the Only Battery Tool I own except for my Multi-meter.

I was a skeptic also..... try something built in the last few years. The cordless stuff can be really good

Except for a Dewalt drill I got as a gift a couple of years ago, all the tools I have cords. Tried them years ago, the battery always quit about 5 minutes before the job was over. The newer Dewalt is better, but I consider myself too old to invest in something I cannot wear out.

I haven't paid for my Ryobi yet. It was priced at $149.00. I got to the checkout and the lady told me that I could get a $50 discount if I signed up for a Home Depot card. I signed and have yet to get the bill. My lucky day.

To be clear.... there’s a night and day difference between 18v and 40v

I use a cordless drill......and a corded one too, depending on the job.

Lawn equipment is gas powered around here.

I use my blower the most. It's so nice to pick it up and blow off small areas.

Amps is also a big difference in them as well, the higher the amps the longer it will run. The 40V are only like 5 amp. The Milwaukee are 18V but are 12.0 Amp for like weedeater and chainsaw, you do the math...

Just bought the 80v chainsaw and spent two weekends cutting mesquite. I was very impressed
