Several piles all around the cotton seed feeders. Ranch is off hwy 59 about 40 miles from Laredo. Each piece is about the size of a quarter. I was thinking nilgai or sheep but have owned the place for 11 years and have never seen either in the area. Huge low fence ranch borders my ranch.

It’s not either of those unless they have been raped by a grizzly bear. Each piece is the size of a quarter or 50 cent peice. Way to large to be any of those 3 animals. Pile is also covers an area of about 2ft by 2ft

Definitely larger than a deer. Red deer or Elk in the area?

That’s what I am guessing a nilgai. I was just looking for someone who may run hunts for them that might know. I have never seen any elk or red deer but I have never seen any nilgai either. Ranch borders a ranch owned by Briscoe. Not sure if they have exotics

Logical solution is a game camera.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Could be an elk that escaped from a HF ranch when a watergap went out. There was a Nilgai seen back about 18 yrs ago along the Nueces River drainage about 30 miles east of Cotulla on a large LF ranch.

Looks Nilgai scat. Usually about 1" in diameter and a little bit oblong.

That’s a young sable

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

We have a llama and it looks very similar. Ours is a free ranging llama on 835 acres, but he craps in the same place behind our cabin. Wish he would teach the cows this little hygiene tip. Probably isn’t a llama, but based on whatever it is pooping in the same place, and the appearance of llama poop, maybe?

Pic looks like a young sable. A lot of antelope species poop in a midden and their territory is around it.
