I was in the Academy in Benbrook and they told me they weren’t getting any Rio or Monarch shells this year. I bought a couple of flats of Remington. Have y’all been told the same thing? I’ve been a fan of the 20GA 1OZ Rios the past couple of years. I like them just because my buddies shoot the Remingtons..

I just ordered a flat of Rios from cheaper than dirt earlier today.

Academy has been thin on shotgun ammo as a whole. Very limited selection at every store I’ve been to lately.

In the whole scheme of things the price of good shells vs cheap is inconsequential. I shoot 410 and 28 mostly, so no cheap shells, but after all the other expenses hardly notice. I do agree though the Rio's are pretty good in 410.

I went to Academy in search of .410 shells for my wife's gun...did not see anything on the shelf less that 11.99/box.

I asked an associate what happened to the sale flyer advertising the Herters shells in 28 ga and .410 bore.

He checked the "side-shelves" and found me a case of Monarch .410 for a lot less than the AA 11.99 price.

I took the whole case home.

Joe

I like the federal 1oz game loads for my 20ga. For the 28ga. I splurge and go for the Winchester XX 1oz loads. Quit buying Remington years ago. Had too many duds and eject issues.

AA's for me bought a flat at Cabelas 8.50 a box, sent in rebate making them 6.50 a box. I believe in buying the best, I need the advantage banana

I have some 40 year old federals I think I'll shoot up this year. Other than that I have a hodge podge of 12 and 20 gauge.

I don't think this is right, Herters isn't sold at Academy and their regular AA price on 410's has always been 8.99?

I still have 3 cases of Winchester AA's from last year, and I'm sure I have close to another case already at the ranch.

X4! Remington Heavy Dove is perfect for Whitewing, Winchester had something very similar that was labeled Winchester White Wing SP but I haven't come across it in a few years.
