EXO is the only thing I had in the 8/15 drawings...Pending 2nd at South Llano SP ...same thing as always for the last who knows how many years with 20 LP's going into this years EXO derby.

My Oil Scout uncle who worked out of the Atlantic Refining Midland office was fond of telling us pre teens where the phrase "Don't Hold Your Breath"..... Until You Hear It Hit"' actually came from ....It was a favorite saying of an oldtime Sprayberry driller trying to fill up a 5000 foot dry hole and found him dead one day still sitting over the hole.... but right now that phrase comes to mind. Kroger's got a sale on TP too Just Sayin'

I shot a javelina at Chaparral many years ago while on a deer archery hunt.
I drew James Daughtry javelina last year and shot a nice javelina and a good hog.

Got picked for archery at Chaparral with 13 points. I was hoping my 16 exotic points would pay off but definitely excited about the Chap.

Best of luck to the groups that drew Palo Duro. I was lucky enough to hunt there last year in the first group and get the first draw for a unit. Amazing place. Weather is the big ? for that hunt.

2 weeks after 1st draw. It's to draw the tags that people didn't pay for.

Won with 5 loyalty points. Sounds like a fun, yet challenging hunt

Congrats and good luck!

I've got/had Apps for 3 categories at SLR... and dollars to day old biscuits all 3 will go to the Pending 2nd Drawing status and fail to get drawn with 6+LP's in the GDA/GDE categories when it's all over.

Thr Archery guys seem to get drawn more often in al the more desirable .places....must be 'cause of fewer of the Stick & String Hunters to apply. Hmmm does anybody know if Cross Bow's are eligible in Archery categories ?? "cause I an't pull a bowstring with my shouder the way it is. Hmmm Crossbow's??? That might could be doable even at my age and state fo grace to learn a new trick or so.....and yes I am and always have been nuts

Crossbows are legal in all archery hunts now. We participated in the last Crossbow hunt on the Chaparral a couple years ago, as they were finalizing their study and report of effectiveness, wounding and loss of animals. The basic decision was they were the same between vertical and crossbows. Seeing a lot more older generation hunters get back into it now.
