Who all builds a factory rifle in 223/5.56 that uses AR mags?
I have two projects that I want to attempt and this would make one of them way easier and less costly

In addition to those factory offerings; PTG makes AR mag bottom metal for the Remington 700.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Friend of mine has the Mossberg in .223. I did a load development for him before our prairie dog hunt, using 60 gr Hornady flat base bullets. If memory serves, the load I ran with put 5 rounds in an inch at 300 yards. The following trip he had the most fun on the prairie dog towns out of all the years we have been prior to that. I said "yeah, now your ammo is tuned to the rifle and you can actually hit them".

Yes, sorry I should have been more specific

OK, has anyone ever rebarreled either the Ruger or Mossberg?
I bought a Howa Mini 223, but I am having a stroke from the quote I got to rebarrel and make a custom magazine.

Tell me more about this quote. I'm still debating the Howa mini or the Ruger for my son.

I forget exactly which chassis stock, I'm guessing MDT makes, but there is a chassis out there for the Ruger American that accepts ar mags. I thought that would be a tick in the pro column for the ruger. I'm wanting a grendel bolt gun that takes an ar mag.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

Tell me more about this quote. I'm still debating the Howa mini or the Ruger for my son. Let's just say, the cost of fabricating one magazine to fit the Mini was more than the barrel, chambering, truing, installation and bedding the action

But for the re-barrel, was it a pain because it's metric? Is it metric?

Yes MDT makes a chassis system for the Ruger American Ranch that will fit the AR mag for 223, but it will not fit the 300BLK.

But for the re-barrel, was it a pain because it's metric? Is it metric? Yes, the metric is a turn off for most smiths, they have to set up their lathe to cut the metric threads and there just isn't enough demand
