I’ve never owned one or had any interest in owning one but I definitely stand behind my right to do so. Banning anything is a joke. AR-15? What about AK, SKS, Mini-14 & 30, etc, etc. we don’t need any feel good laws. Crazies are crazy, criminals don’t follow the law as it stands. Gun free zones are a joke. The media is a joke. I could go on but we’re mostly like minded people here. What’s scary is that there’s an equal number of like minded people on on the other side.

False source of security. Once the leftist, socialist can get at the ar then I gaurantee yall all "evil guns" will all fall. In fact, in this far fetched reality the AR and AK will be banned at the same time.

The left use the term "military style" now. With that term as to what they want to ban, you wont even be allowed a knife or a pistol.

I'm not seeing another ban myself. However, permits and registration sometime in the future for AR's and high-capacity mags would not totally surprise me.

Dan, I don't believe this thread was questioning the reality of the premise. If "they" did, then...
At least for me, the main point is that any scenario where AR's are being banned then saying "I'm getting an AK." is probably not going to be a viable option as well.

I don't see a total ban coming either.

I do see the following "feel good" items implemented at some point...

1. Ban/limit high cap mags (keep in mind Trump can do the same thing he did with bump stocks)
2. Permits/Registration
3. Possible implementation of Calif feature restrictions
4. Taxation (firearms & ammo)
5. Ban private party sales

Since this is the thread "amongst friends," I can honestly say i am willing to comply with 1-4. My only opposition to these 4 are based on the slippery slope argument. But number 5 is a deal breaker, non-starter or whatever term you want for "I ain't talking about it." until we as a nation show more efforts of enforcing current laws. Parkland being the egregious of all instances.

Given the OP was made back on August 9th and replies had slowed, I saw no harm in expanding the discussion to include other scenarios.

This...and refuse to surrender them...try to start or get involved in a lawsuit against the law...

I guess some people don’t want to get flamed for posting their thoughts in here, afraid to step out of the closet they are hiding in

I think this answers your question...

I do think that Snake Wrangler's post is the best solution. Get a lawsuit going for infringement of 2nd amendment rights. But I would not wait for that knock on the door to confiscate. That lawsuit should be filed as soon as the law is signed.
