Credit card to pay bills ATM from the wall if you need cash You got raped at Brexit rates On both transactions, you should be charged 0.77 max, the bank will take the 0.02-0.03, the airport will take your 0.15 At 0.82 its actually cheap to go to the UK compared to the 0.60 5 yrs ago They want your USD, they all do at this moment... Bank of America here, would have given you 0.70 tops , which is a lil brexit rape The pound lost 11% in the last 4 months due to the Brexit deal and the new prime minister, nobody knows where its going. Down on a harsh Brexit for sure, so Banks are taking a 5-8% cushion on short term currency fluctuations, and your trip is a very short fluctuation. But rule nr one, as we all know, is never to exchange at an airport, unless You need 50 brexits for a taxi to a Bank that is.

Pretty much never get from the exchange at the airport here. I will try to withdraw some at the arrival airport ATM. Or maybe exchange a couple hundred. Depending on where you’re going it can be a pain trying to find an ATM that works. Sometimes the networks can be down.Happens less these days but I don’t leave the arrival airport without some local cash. But anymore I have a cache at home of $100 in each of the local currencies where I travel. I don’t recommend leaving the arrival airport without at least $100 in local currency. That’s from many years of international travel.
To be determined

Where can One get the best exchange rate? I know this will be of no use to you now, but we used our bank to exchange currency for our trip to London a few years ago. We just needed to give them a few days advance notice. And the exchange rate was much better than the airports or banks in the UK.

And don't ride in taxis. Get an Oyster card and ride the "Tube". Yes the tubes are fine, the double decker bus are cheap and fun too, a short taxi old skool, just for the experience of it Lots of Roma pick pocket kids in the tube, don't even wear a wallet, they will get it. Looooooots of pick pockets in London. Back in the day, when i lived in Barcelona, london and Madrid, i used to wear an old wallet with a f u note in it in my back pocket. About a dozen got stolen. 4 in one day riding the tubes. 80% were all Roma kiddos. Them Romes live in mansions in Romania. This is a video of all the Gipsy maffia in Buzescu Romania, its only their ciry home, in the middle of nowhere, they have 1000 acre ranches on top of it plus beach mansions as their third house. All from stealing 3 months a year in france, uk, spain and germany They kill first and ask questions later. https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/ne...atus-symbol-for-poor-minority/ar-AAFyHIH

W Last summer we went to Madrid and Barcelona with my son's swim team, and one of his teammate's swim gear bag was stolen in a subway station in Barcelona. In Madrid and Barcelona, I had to open my glove box and I had a cardboard sign saying : No hay nada en este coche If not, they bust your window to see if there is anything in It. I had my speakers and radio stolen within 1 hour, and got rear/front ended at a so called red light for an insurance claim twice: a cheap car will rear end you pretty hard for you to hit the more expensive insured car in front of you. The rear end car will disappear, resulting your insurance to have to pay for his buddy in front of you. He will get to a “body shop” and take the cash. It was a very common trick, especially when having foreign plates. On my second hit, my insurance refused to pay him. I knew his address and send him a “bite me” card. Besides all that, living in Spain was a wonderful experience and I had a pretty mamasita girl from Gran Canaria. Girls are pretty there, very, very, very pretty.

And don't ride in taxis. Get an Oyster card and ride the "Tube". You don't necessarily need the oyster card. You need like a day pass. I think it's ten pounds and allows you to ride the train and buses. The black taxis are cool, and it's a big profession over there. They have to memorize the whole city before they can be a taxi driver.

As far from the airport as possible. Or use credit cards if you can. In Philippines the Airport has great exchange rates for US dollars, even better than the black market for US dollar to Peso. Suxs it isn't the same way there.
