My daughter is finally old enough for me to enter her in the drawn hunts.

Couple questions for you experts;

1. When I apply to I need to put both of us on the application or just her?
2. Will I be allowed to harvest animals too or is it only the youth? Or is it different from place to place?

P.S. She isn't turning 8(minimum age) until the ends of December so we're limited to only the few January hunts that she can apply for this season...

Please help...

2- On the Youth hunts you will not be allowed to hunt, only the Youth.

She can apply with you in the Adult categories as well. It’s free for her and you both get to hunt.

What Erny said. I'll also add, if your little girl doesn't get drawn, don't let that discourage you. For the youth hunts, the odds of getting a standby spot is excellent. A lot of folks don't show up and they usually set aside standby spots as well. A lot of the youth spike and doe hunts are almost a shoe in. Just call the WMA a few days in advance and make your plans accordingly.

Thanks gents. I did some additional research and according to what I read, I think she actually cannot apply till next season. It stated that the youth needs to be 8 at the time of application. She won't be 8 until the end of December though.

This is the second year for my daughter, she turned 9 mid season last year and I was able to put her in for the draws when she would have been 8.

The folks at the WMA's do a great job with the youth hunts. I actually have had more fun on them then my hunts.

This year I have put my 2 oldest in on a couple regular draws as well. At least if we don't draw they get points and maybe will have enough to draw some cool hunts on their own in a few years.
