I am trying to expand my business and start selling duck hunting gear and plan on building Texas rig decoy weights.

What length and weight do you prefer on your Texas rigs?

I use 4,6 and 8 in 48” depending on the strength of the wind.
4 ounces tend to float away in high wind

I use 8 for all the motion decoys

Used 4oz weights once on my first texas rig, way over kill, at least where I hunt. Never had a need for that much weight, and it makes a big difference hauling that gear and weight in boat. I got 2 rigs now, one with 1.5 oz weight, the other rig small fishing weights, maybe half oz, and that works just fine.

4oz 36” or 4 and 6 oz 48” depending which place I’m hunting and wind/current.

Usually 4oz and 48" have been my favorite, but some spots at our lease drop off pretty quickly that we have to hunt due to wind direction and some 60" versions would be great.
