I think they are the best huntin' rigs there is. They are the best boat-hauling' vehicles to boot. I'd like mine new, 2019+, with the TOYOTA TRD Pro grille and the radar cover that goes with it.

I like the SR5 sub flavor. SR5 is so classic. They are proudly American-built right in San Antonio, Tx. Your Big Three rig might be built in Canada or Mexico.

My Ford Superduty is built in Kentucky. I don’t know where the off brands are built.

I purchased my Tundra because it was made in Texas. I am pleased with the truck and it does everything I need. Just don’t like the fact they have a 24 gallon gas tank in a truck that gets 15 mpg. I plan on getting a Tacoma for my next truck.

My Tundra has a 38 gallon tank.... went to buy a Tacoma but seemed a little tight after a Four door F150

So your going to buy a smaller truck with smaller tank that still gets 15 mpg?

I have a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road and really like it so far. I traded in a fully equipped Chev. Z71 on it and can't believe how much better the Tacoma handles than the bigger truck. My wife sure doesn't like the color (Quicksand)...but I get compliments very often from guys about the looks of it. It gets 20-21 mpg on a regular basis and is one of those trucks you can drive with a couple fingers on the steering wheel. I just have about 3,000 miles on it so far and haven't gotten myself to the point that I can take it into the heavy woods around here yet....just hate to scratch it up!

I drive a Land Cruiser...I wish I got the mpg that the Tundra gets, lol. But I love it, and I drive a lot, so I see a lot of gas stations!

I got a Tundra after seeing them in action with the excavation industry, the company I was working for at the time went to Tundra 4x4's for the superintendents vs. power stroke F250's because of lower operating costs.

The tundras were going 250-300K miles with no issues(5.7ltr & 4x4), and did not have easy lives - The most common issue was TPMS sensors having to be replaced because the superintendents would jump curbs at 30+mph!

If you own a Tundra that does not have the TRD off road package, do your self a favor and replace the factory shocks with Bilstein HD shocks(same shocks as the TRD package).... the factory standard shocks are pathetic and that's my only gripe.

My last truck before my Tundra was an F150 extended cab(2 wheel drive) with a 4.2ltr V6 and it got the same gas mileage as my 5.7ltr 4x4 Tundra at roughly 15mpg.

I agree on the gas mileage. Im on my second Tundra and love it. I think it gets about 15 mpg but I thought all 4x4 trucks got about that. Its been a lifetime since I can remember any truck ive owned getting better than that. What decent size and power 4x4 trucks get better than 15ish?? Maybe ive had my head in the sand. I do need a 3/4 ton and I guess ill have to shop the Chevy and Ford route.

My Tundra isa 2014 with the 24 gallon gas tank. My understanding that Toyota got so many complaints about the small gas tank that they corrected it. There is an aftermarket 48 gallon tank but it’s well over 1k installed. I just carry gas cans when I go on an extended road trip for western hunts.

You only get the 38 gallon tank on the SR5 upgrade package. Standard SR5 still get the 26

What year model was your 4.2 v6 and what year model is your tundra? Times and technology have changed. Its easy to get better mileage out of a newer pickup than a 1980's model.
