Are you now offering fewer classroom courses since so many are now taking the online course? Correct me if I'm wrong, but only kids 16 and under are required to take the classroom course, or the combined online and field course.
I'm thinking about leading an offering or two in the next two months but want to make sure there's sufficient demand.
TIA

Not sure that is right..."Every hunter (including out-of-state hunters) born on or after Sept. 2, 1971, must successfully complete a Hunter Education Training Course. Proof of certification or deferral is required to be on your person while hunting. Minimum age of certification is 9 years and cost is $15." From Texas Regs...by my math that means 48 and younger...so over 17 can take the online only course...and since the regs say you must carry proof of course completion(Certification Card), you will have to offer your course soon enough for the "student" to take the class and then for the State of Texas "machine" to grind out the cert card before opening day! Unless you issue some sort of "Completion Document" when your class is complete. I think they ask for the cert card when you purchase a license.

Yes, those 17 and over can take the online only path to earn certification. It's my understanding kids 16 have two options. They can take a "free" online course but are still required to take the Field Course which is stated to last at least four hours. Or, they can take the full eight-hour classroom course. Not sure if the free online course is the same one those 17 and older can take by itself to earn certification. The online-field course combo for younger kids simply provides another option rather than taking eight hours of classroom training. Of course anyone of any age can take the full, eight-hour classroom course to earn certification. I did this with my daughter even though HE is not required for someone my age.

Fyi, HE cert is available online if you don't have it on license or a card. Just pull up and save screenshot or print if going out of state. You can show it on your phone if you need to. Mine has always linked to my license like most unless someone screwed up during data entry when you took the course. https://tpwd.elementlms.com/hunterboater-education-verification/
