Last year was my first season on a dove lease, and I was really pleased with it. There was a particular cornfield that was very productive. I drove by earlier this summer and noticed they planted milo this year. There were already tons of doves hanging around it which got me excited. I drove by again this weekend and the field had already been harvested. Will harvesting this early before the season have an impact on the hunting? My worry is that the field will be picked clean by the time the season rolls around. It is a large field (maybe 150-200 acres) if that makes a difference. I am still pretty green to this so any input is appreciated.

The fields should being cut around this time every year. You'll see a lot of birds on the harvested field and those fields are now legal to hunt over.

You're good. Normal time to cut if not just a little on the late side depending where it is at.

Should be good hunting, could get even better if the farmer begins discing the field for fall/winter crops.
