If you have issues do not put this off, it can be life threatening. I had an average of 28 events an hour and they lasted an average of 10 seconds. My blood oxygen level got as low as 82%. spending much time at that level is very bad. last test I had was 25 years ago. I'm glad I went again.

yep, had one done about 10 years ago, don't recall the number of events but the doctor was even shocked ... been on a CPAP since

You also have to adjust your equipment, even after something has worked for you for a long time. I had been using the same mask for 10 years. Had been feeling very tired and low energy for the last year or more and didn't think about my cpap equipment since I use it nightly. I bought a different mask to try out and its night and day difference in my energy level and and wakefulness. Turns out at some point in the last 10 years I had started breathing through my mouth during the night so I needed a full face mask instead of the nose only mask Ive used for all this time.

I used the same mask for 20 years. it had problems leaking. My new mask is fantastic! I sleep like a baby.

Man, my doctor told me to get this done about 6 months ago. I have not done it, because I'm a hard head. I feel tired and like crap all the time, I really need to go. I did get a pacemaker implanted about 3 years ago. I wonder if this is what caused it.

We have only had our CPAP's for just over a year now, but we still see the sleep doctor every 6 months for updates. My wife has made mask adjustments and they have adjusted her machine a few different times. She was a nose breather only for awhile but now she sleeps with her mouth open so she had to switch to the full face mask as well.

I've had it since my 20s I'm 55 now. do not hesitate, it's that serious especially if you already have heart issues.

How can you have the same mask for 20 years? I get a new one (full face) every six months. The lining starts to wear out and the whistling wakes my wife up, who in turn wakes me up.

If they still put as many leads on you as they did 16 yrs. ago and use the same glue on them, you will be washing glue off of you for weeks. I stopped breathing 50 times an hour, just to stop the snoring was worth it.

Mine was 87 episodes per hour. I was snoring all night, gasping for air, and was always tired. When I found out that I quit breathing for 10 seconds more than once a minute, it was pretty clear why I always felt fatigued. I've had it for 3 years and take it everywhere. The machines are quiet and there's some pretty comfortable masks now. You basically rub down the mask with a wipe daily and clean everything once a week. I've noticed less sinus issues since getting it. If you snore allot or waking up gasping for air, it's worth checking into. It isn't a problem that is going to fix itself

Freerange, YES its possible. Wife was complaining about my snoring.. I was tired and not much energy. Went and got tested.. Saved my Life and I cannot sleep without my CPAP and if I forget it on a travel overnight I pay the price on how I feel. Been well over 10 years, so I've been think of getting retested. For sure I need to replace mask/parts again.
This is serious, get tested you may not know that you stop breathing during sleep

I have one now, but not because of snoring. I have very shallow breathing and my oxygen levels drop. Add the low oxygen levels to a heart that drops as low as 35 BPM and you end up wearing a CPAP. All in all I think it’s helped me to get a better nights sleep.
