I know it's not texas, but it's insane at the amount of birds in the desert out here. I travel once a week to the lake havasu area off 40. No joking I always always see tons of birds here. This evening non stop just like always I probably watched a solid 1k fly all over. Gets me hopeful they we re all flying towards texas. 15 birds is a long ways to drive all the way out here for, but it would be a barrel burner for sure. It does spark my interest.

If you just shoot the Eurasian Collared Doves it is open season no limit.
Just don't shoot native doves out of season..

Hunted around Yuma a couple of times with my brother, don't believe I've ever seen a place more loaded with dove.

These were all mourning dove maybe saw 1 eurasian. I mean its crazy at the number of birds there. I see em once a week there while at work

Been going for 15 plus years...3 day out of state license, get to hunt with my brothers, nephews and nieces...usually 15-20 of us...limits all around...if you shoot your 5 morning doves early...after about 9 AM it's almost all whitewings...always 20+ eurasions in the bag...and there are a couple tanks that I shoot doves over on 2nd and 3rd days to give my Lab, Raelette, and her feet, a break from the hot sand/gravel.

I have seen em in Yuma, but off 40 blows what I've seen in Yuma away by a long long shot

Same here. lived there for a few years off and on. My father was stationed at MCAS Yuma. Hunted just south of the base a few times in the tangerine groves. It was a slaughter.
the Cactus wren is the state bird but it could have been the white wing.

In AZ, dove hunting is mainly pass shooting, which is my fav anyway

Hunted Yuma a few years back in the 80's. Between the citris groves, the irrigation canals, and the scrub brush ravines in the desert east of town, there was some pretty good dove hunting. Hunting the desert east of town was way fun. Some times we'd sit on the rim of a big deep ravine with scrub brush in the bottom. A lot of times you're actually shooting down at them as they cruise through the wash from little tree to little tree. That takes getting used to. Good times. Not sure if all that land is still open or not. Seldom saw anyone else out there back then.
