That's about right when said by a Texan. Similar to saying "it's down the road a piece."

Anywhere from 1 to 200 miles.

A: Bout half an hour....

Or in the case of my uncle,

A. Not for. No more than 1 or 2 beers.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

I hate it when someone measures distance in time. Is that 1/2 hour at 30 m.p.h. on back roads or is it 1/2 hour on the Interstate? I want to know how many miles it is between 2 points. JMO

Using 'time' to reference distance 'assumes' using the most common (direct) route between the two points and normal traffic/weather conditions. It's use seeks to place more importance on travel time than the less meaningful 'distance'. It appeals more to the casual traveler.

True distance primarily being useful to calculate fuel consumption or fees charged per mile. Commercial/Fleet interests apply more here.

There's only 2 seasons in a year. Deer season and getting ready for deer season.
