I had a buddy of mine tell me that his local GW showed him to "break into" a locked gate quickly and very simple method. Said that he could open a lock and re-lock it and you would never know how he had gotten in without a combo or key. So even with a locked gate their are ways to get in them.

Yep, can do it with a beer can. Locks only keep the honest out.

All kinds of videos on YouTube on how to crack a combination lock. With a little practice, I think just about anybody could crack any of the major brands. And I would think, any self-respecting thief, would also have a set of bolt cutters handy.

yep, why bother with messing with a lock when bolt cutters do the trick without much thinking and very quickly. Simply cut the chain as most will cut like butter, when a lock could damage the cutter face. Yeah, I have a couple sets of bolt cutters in my tool box just for when someone else bypasses the other lock(s).
there isn't a sure fire cure and I don't leave anything that I couldn't easily replace out at any of my leases ... learned that lesson the hard way when thieves stole my '58 vette stashed away in a barn between garage availability.

I have a mobile home on my place. I leave the door unlocked. I would rTher have a thief open the door than tear it open. Not a lot there other than furniture, TV, cooking stuff and, tractor and clothes.
Tools and 4 Wheelers are in a shipping container. But, I know that I could cut through it in a short time. Essentially, since I don’t live there, I’m not kidding myself about being theft proof. I also have a couple of no flash cams but if they see them, they will also begone.
About 10 years ago, a thief got my 16 ft trailer and a 4 wheeler. I put an add in the local paper offering a $500 reward for info leading to the thief. I got some calls that were scams. Then the right one came. I got my stuff back, but the thief’s Dad was politically connected and only served 4 or 5 days in jail. He was a druggie.
4 years ago thieves got 2 4 wheelers that I thought were well hidden in the woods. They were insured but that turned to be a farce compared to replacement cost.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

They easily use bolt cutters or a battery powered saw. Apparently the battery powered saws are quite popular.
To be determined

I have used a battery powered sawzall to cut the lock on my own gate when I forgot my key in the past. The make short work of even a tough lock. Locks are only made to keep honest people out.

Very easy to break in to as well.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.
