A few buddies of mine are having a mini tourney out there in a few weeks and I don’t bass fish. Since the TFF is worthless for information does anyone here have any tips on what works out there?

Take your time. Let your lure stay for a count of ten before you start your retrieve.

It’s worthless because I’ve had two threads going over there for two days with no replies.
I do know how to fish and work a lure. I just don’t bass fish often. Curious if I should throw plastics, cranks, spinnerbait? What works out there?

I've fished the Brazos below Whitney but never that far up. Big bass in the stretch below Whitney. Typically get lots of action on fluke type baits, wacky rigged worms, and ned rigs.

Here's a pic of me with some bass I caught there on a Strike Pro Hunchback a couple years ago.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Never fished there but just looked at some drone footage from that area. Looks like there are going to be some boat docks which is always a good place to start if you are in unfamiliar water. If I were fishing there I would start with a top water around those docks in the morning. Once the sun gets up I would switch over to a drop shot rig and wacky rigged Zoom trick worm in those same areas. All three of those should produce some fish even in the hands of someone that doesn't Bass fish much. If you get some rain and the water is muddy I would throw some loud shallow squarebill crankbaits around those docks and a Colorado blade spinner bait. If I were you I would pray for rain and muddy water but without a ton of current. You are more likely to get a good shallow bite all day long with those conditions. Those patterns may not win the tournament but they should at least put some fish in the boat. Here is the drone footage I looked at. The first part of the video is where I would be fishing with all those docks.

You should pay attention to JBC"s post. I have no info on the Brazos, but his type of info worked on the Concho river.

In what section did you not get any responses and when was this? Never fished where you’re talking about, but throw everything you mentioned until you develop a pattern. Id start with spinnerbaits and Texas rigged plastics. If there are docks, fish those. Get your plastic as far under as you can. Swim spinnerbaits along the pilings and get it under as far as you can also. Fish it parallel to all sides. Find shade of any type. Find deep pools if you can. Throw a Texas rigged worm if it’s slow. Or a baby brush hog (I have more luck with those than worms).
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

I think B_Rod has kayaked and fished most of the Brazos, but he has not been on here since February. Here is his profile, send him a message. https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/users/42507/b-rod

I put in at Tin Top quite a bit when I lived in Weatherford. This time of year I’d throw a frog or Spook early in the morning and switch to a watermelon jig or worm when they quit biting that. Hit the docks. After 10AM switch to a 1OZ Carolina rig to knock the jet skiers and wake boat riders on their arse when they come too close while your fishing.

So let's consider this scenario. I want to know about deer hunting an area, so I'm going to post in the hunting vehicles section asking for information. then after a few hours, I'm going to go to the TFF OT and whine about how everyone on the THF is worthless because I wasn't smart enough to post in the correct place. Yes, I defend both these forums. I'm blessed to have them and have met many great people on them. folks that would give you the shirt of your back. I've seed it too many times. unfortunately there are a few jerks too. You sir, are one of them. Good day.

Listen douchebag. I’ve been on that forum since 2006. I happen to have had the same experience multiple times, regardless of the forum. The main thread I’m talking about isn’t even a bass question. Maybe consider you don’t have the full story before spouting off. Crazy idea I know. Btw, your theory doesn’t hold much water when I can come to the hunting forum and post in the off topic and get better answers in 2 hours than I can over there.
