We just bought a little land and build a house on the Waxahachie/Ennis border. Just a couple miles down the road is Baldwell Lake and what looks like on a map Big Mustang Creek Park. We drove down the "park" this past weekend and I expected a park, but all that is there are gates that say hunters entrances.

Anyone hunted there? Is it just for dove/ducks? Are the paths fairly kept up or will it be a bitch to get to the lake?

It used to be a place to find a pig or 2 until the lake rose up a few years back. They are still around but are nocturnal and bed down in the thousands of cedar bushes. The last 2 years I didn't even see a pig, finally gave up

Dove hunting is ok in spots but a lot of people Dove hunt there.
